Well another incident packed day at the Tour de France. Yet more crashes. Earlier on the stage, David Miller and David Zabriskie crash, with Zabriskie abandoning the Tour, along with Alexander Vinokourov from the Astana team with a fractured femur.
Meanwhile the break away of the day, which includes Thomas Voeckler of Europcar, is involved in a terrible incident with a car, that swipes Sky’s Juan Antonio Flecha and Johnny Hoogerland of Vacansoleil that summersaults him into a fence!! Cycling being the sort of sport where people some how scrape themselves of the floor and get back on the bike, Flecha and Hoogerland have done that, after some minutes. The driver was a complete idiot and should be kicked out and made to have driving lessons.
The breakaway is down to three now and stays like that until the end of the stage where Luis-Leon Sanchez breaks away to win the stage and Thomas Voeckler comes second and takes the yellow jersey from Thor Hushovd on the final stage before Monday’s rest day.
